PXe Latest News & Updates

Jan 2025 – New PX-BLS AC output power source uses two independent energy sources to ensure dual-redundancy and continuous operation with no drop-out, no gap or changeover spike 👍

The PX-BLS Series AC output Power Supply is used for mission-critical applications where loss of power would be catastrophic or highly disruptive at best.  The PX-BLS is different to a UPS, as it is powered from two independent energy sources, meaning it is both dual input fed and intelligent, reporting status over TCIP to mobile devices – drawing energy from the available ac or dc sources. Rack mountable and easy to install.  Classic applications are Data Centres, Cell-network base stations, banking infrastructure, gas and electricity utilities.

July 2024 – Harland and Wolff Shipyard Appledore, Devon UK.  Commissioned and installation of PXe-33060 60kVA Static Frequency Convertor for dry-dock power 415V 50Hz to 440Vac 60Hz 👍

Many maritime vessels require three phase 440V 60Hz shore power, so connecting these to a non-US shipyard/dry-dock requires care when only 415Vac 50Hz is available.  This is especially the case when powering military vessels during refits and repairs, in a precise and controlled way.  It is necessary when lighting systems and auxiliaries are to be tested for functionality running at various loading conditions – before main ship generators are switched on.

June 2024 – Ryanair MRO uses 20kVA PXe33020 Static Frequency Converter for B737 overhauls of air-stairs to CMM, allowing simulation of 400Hz aircraft power in the workshop with control capability 👍

Prestwick based MRO (Maintenance Repair Overhaul) Workshop services B737 400Hz powered components like air-stairs, usually energised by a/c three phase 115V 400Hz power.  The MRO uses a compact PXe33020 SFC powered by utility three phase 50Hz converting to 400Hz. It is necessary when systems such as these are to be tested for functionality at all loading conditions including overload.

May 2024 – MOD uses Lab-based 10kVA PXe33010 Static Frequency  Convertor to mimic 400Hz Aircraft Power controlling Aircraft Pylon  Launch Mechanism 👍

Staff training and SFC installation checks at Scottish based MOD facility, using ATEs to test Fighter Aircraft wing launch mechanisms over a wide range of loading conditions to ensure reliable release of under-wing ordnance.  The tests include specified Hi/Lo voltage ranges, release command, inhibit and interlock testing.

March 2024 – Collins Aerospace uses Lab-based PXe-33003 3kVA Static Frequency Convertors to mimic Aircraft Power along with Avionics Bench Testing 👍

OEM Collins Aerospace, based in Florida and CT USA, offers bespoke design and testing for OEMs like Boeing.  Acceptance testing requires simulation of a wide range of electrical conditions found on-board aircraft during abnormal and normal operations.  Our SFCs allow computer control of voltage and frequency supplied with NIST traceable calibration certificates.

October 2023 – Aerospace Logistics UK uses PXe-XT2640 Power Analyzer to bench test avionics to ATP and CMM 👍

UK family owed Aerospace Logistics is a UK based MRO for Military Aircraft Spares, Civil Aircraft Spares using both PXe XT2640 Power Analysis tools and PAV1010A Phase Angle Voltmeters for positional control, ensuring all vector related AC measurements to CMM, allowing ATP and issuance of 8130 Tags.
