The PXe-270DC Series provides dedicated regulated 270Vdc power for aircraft electrical systems requiring a stable high-voltage DC supply.
Available in configurations up to 45kW, the range is intended primarily for aircraft MRO, avionics and subsystem testing, aerospace production, electrical integration and maintenance environments. Systems are selected around the required continuous current, transient load, facility input supply and connection arrangement.
270Vdc is used within advanced military aircraft power architectures and associated support equipment, including F-22 and F-35 programmes. The PXe-270DC Series provides a practical platform for relevant maintenance, production and subsystem applications, with direct aircraft connection assessed separately against the required electrical interface and transient performance.
Where both 270Vdc and 400Hz AC aircraft power are required from the same equipment platform, the PXe-400F-DC Series provides the combined AC/DC alternative.

Input Configuration
Lower-power systems can be configured around a suitable single-phase facility supply where practical.
For 20kW, 30kW and 45kW systems, three-phase input is normally the more appropriate arrangement due to the required AC input current.

Output Configuration
The standard output is regulated 270Vdc.
The required converter rating is determined by the maximum continuous load together with any short-duration current demand. Aircraft electrical systems with rapid load changes should be specified using the expected load profile rather than nominal power alone.
Current limiting and protection settings can be configured according to the selected controller and connected equipment.
MRO and Aircraft Interface
For general MRO, production and subsystem applications, output connections can be configured using suitable industrial DC terminals or application-specific cable assemblies.
Where direct aircraft connection is required, the cable, connector, interlock arrangement and electrical interface should be identified at enquiry stage.
Specialist 270Vdc aircraft cabling can be important where high transient currents are involved. Commercial F-22/F-35 support systems use dedicated low-inductance 270Vdc cable arrangements for this reason.
Relationship to Full Aircraft Ground Power
The PXe-270DC Series is positioned primarily for systems up to 45kW.
This covers a substantial range of MRO, avionics, subsystem and aircraft electrical-support requirements. Some direct full-aircraft ground-power applications, including certain F-22/F-35 support duties, can require higher power and particularly demanding transient performance. Those applications should therefore be assessed individually rather than assuming suitability from the 270Vdc nominal voltage alone. Published specialist F-22/F-35 ground-power systems extend to 72kW.
The PXe-270DC Series is available in standard power ratings from 5kW to 45kW. Intermediate ratings can also be configured where required.
