PXe-1010A Phase Angle Voltmeter

The PXe-1010A Phase Angle Voltmeter, distributed exclusively by PX Electronics, is a highly anticipated upgrade to the popular SD1000 Volt Meter. It offers advanced capabilities, improved performance, and enhanced versatility compared to traditional Phase Angle Voltmeters (PAVs).

The instrument utilizes Discrete Fourier Transform algorithms, enabling precise measurements of various parameters. It specifically caters to the Synchro/Resolver and LVDT/RVDT market, which are commonly used in position sensing and motion control applications.

With the PXe-1010A, measuring Phase Angle, In-Phase, Quadrature (90° component), Fundamental, and Total Vrms becomes straightforward. The instrument features a bright multifunction display that simultaneously shows all these measurements. Isolated inputs allow for null, ratio (in-phase, quad, fund, total rms, sum+difference), and gain measurements of key parameters. Additionally, a reference offset facilitates bridging measurements, and a sensitive null meter ensures precise nulling.

PAVs are widely employed in applications such as aircraft instruments, aircraft control surfaces, inertial navigation systems, gyros, autopilot systems, and weapon aiming systems. These devices, including Resolvers, LVDTs, and RVDTs, convert mechanical movement and position into electrical signals, which are then used to feed control systems.

PAV upgrade program for military users

For decades the SD10000 phase angle meter has been used worldwide by armed forces and in the aviation sector. PXElectronics offers an upgrade package converting the SD1000 phase meter to a fully functioning PAV1010A phase angle voltmeter. The benefits are large cost savings and continued compatibility with the user’s in-house computer test systems, documentation and size – whist adding full phase angle voltmeter capability along with multifunction display.

Calibration and World-wide Traceability

All measurements made using the PXe-1010A and SD1000 are traceable to National and International standards; through the measurement standards of PXElectronics. A certificate of conformance is supplied as required by quality assurance standards such as IEC17025/ISO9001. Independent third-party measurement certification and accreditation is possible using UKAS, A2LA or Z540/NVLAP certificate. PXElectronics provides optional LV calibration software and attenuators, permitting customers to automate their PAV1010A calibration in house.
